Where’s it at? Santa Cruz near southern base of Hwy 17

De La Veaga is the essential disc golf course in the San Francisco Bay Area, even if it is showing severe signs of wear and tear from years of constant use. The course is located just beyond a ball golf course at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is often 27 holes, or should I say it’s officially 27 holes, but over the years I’ve seen holes close and new holes pop up more than anywhere else.

I’ve played this course a ton of times and it’s always challenging and enjoyable. They play some big PDGA tournaments here so it’s a great idea to check in and make sure it’s definitely open to the public if you’re planning a visit here.

Bring a lunch or a snack and plenty of fluids. It does get pretty hot here in the Summer and several of the holes leave you in wide open sunshine, though there’s a great mix of elevation changes and tree covered, foresty holes as well.
