Where’s it at? Rocklin, CA off hwy 80

The 18 hole course at Rocklin off highway 80 has a number of wide open holes mixed with tree hazards, with very little elevation change. On my first and only visit so far, it was a hot summer day leaving dry and stickery grasslands and dusty dirt trails. The tee pads are cement and the holes have multiple pin locations.

I apologize and don’t mean to scare anyone off, but this was probably the ugliest disc golf course I’ve ever been to in terms of scenery. I’m quite sure it had to do with the time of year I went. The tee signs were all muddy for some reasons, with dry, caked-on dirt that begged me to clean them at every hole. Additionally it was just all browns and beiges, except for the dull green oak leaves.

On my visit one memorable occurrence was the danger of not only being hit by flying discs, but being hit by a swarm of stinging bees which had taken up refuge around hole 5, with a hive in the trees.

As for playability it was an enjoyable disc golf course with good hole placements, and I inevitably had a good time throwing discs here despite the missing aesthetics I’ve grown used to playing courses around the bay area and in Lake Tahoe.
